The pedestrian accident occurred while Austin was walking in a crosswalk . She was hit by a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by 21-year-old Ana Guillen according to the report. Guillen will be cited for failing to yield.

Most pedestrian accidents are caused by the negligence of the motorists and, in this case, the driver failed to yield the right-of-way to a person in a marked crosswalk.
